Free for law firms
Stop re-explaining your firm every time you open a chat.
A free starter workspace for the Claude desktop app or ChatGPT’s Codex app. It keeps your firm’s voice, your standing positions, and where every matter stands in plain files on your own computer. Each session picks up where the last one left off.
Set it up in 15 minutes
- Open the Claude desktop app (Cowork) or the Codex app.
- Paste the line below. If the app asks whether to use an existing folder or make a new one, let it make a new one.
- Answer about a dozen questions about your firm. It takes around 15 minutes, and you can skip anything.

Set up my firm workspace from https://github.com/sagerock/law-firm-workspace. If you need a folder, create one called Firm Workspace in my Documents folder and use that. Then follow SETUP.md.
What’s inside
- Your firm on file · Voice, positions, team, and letterhead, read at the start of every session
- One folder per matter · Parties, open items, deadlines, and “where we left off”
- Routines for recurring work · Intake summaries, client letters, draft review, trust funding checklists
- It learns from corrections · Say “remember that” and it follows the fix from then on
It treats everything it writes as a draft for attorney review, keeps one matter per session, and never sends or files anything. It doesn’t decide whether client information belongs in your AI app. Check your plan’s data terms and your ethics guidance first. This is a starting template, not legal advice.
Free to use and adapt under the MIT license.
