Beating the sandbox effect
Beating the sandbox effect: “The more people link to your site, the more high quality links you get, the faster your new site will be indexed. The better your content, the higher the chance that people are willing to link to you. (to answer your first question)
But usually I don’t wait for people to do this by themselves. So the other options are:
- put links on other websites I already have
- kindly ask other webmasters
- pay for a link(s) ”
That’s the short of it. If you want to do well in Google, the above sentences are all that’s to it. But the problems don’t end there. After you have a bunch of great links and great content, we are still seeing people placed in this virtual “sandbox”. This means even though your pages are indexed and you can see them in Google’s listings, you may not see them appear for the targeted key phrases you are interested in.
Some people are reporting not being able to get out of this sandbox since May. There is some speculation that Google may be doing this in part to disinterest optimization efforts. If they don’t index your site right away for your big key phrases maybe you’ll just quit optimizing.
Plan your work and work your plan. We know what works: good content and good links. Just keep plugging away at those things and everything will take care of itself.
Don’t get discouraged.
