Keyword Research

Definition:

Doing research on a single keyword to find its relatives and related keywords. This is often done to find the highest producing keywords.

This keyword research is highly useful in that phrases used by your potential clients or customers is often very different than they words or phrases that are used internally at your company.

Keyword research can be as simple as using automated tools to find synonyms and related words that are often searched. Or it can be as complicated as using linguists to do scientific studies to determine the most used phrases by your target audience.
