Getting listed in Yahoo!
Yahoo! is really in the news these days. I could write pages about everything that's going on
over at their site. But we don't need to 'build Rome in a day'. We can spread out the news.
Let's talk about getting your business web site listed in the Yahoo! directory:
If you are a business and have not yet been listed in the Yahoo! directory I would HIGHLY suggest you consider coughing up the $199 for the Biz Express submission. Its an essential part of internet site promotion. And I haven't recently seen a business site receive a listing without it. If you can prove me wrong, let me know. Actually, I would really like to be wrong in this case. But I don't think I am.
Yahoo! is by far the most used search site on the net. So, likely, your money will be well worth spent.
Remember, just because you hand over your two hundred bucks to Yahoo! does not mean you are going to be accepted into their directory. Your site still must be immaculate for this form of internet site promotion. All your links must work, your site must have no typos and it has to have some valuable information.
Something else to consider is that Yahoo! editors (the people who decide if your site is going to
get listed) primarily use Netscape Navigator to look at your site. So be sure your site looks A-OK with a Netscape web browser. Netscape is not as kind as Internet Explorer in accepting badly coded web pages. I've seen pages that looked just fine in Internet Explorer not appear AT ALL in Netscape Navigator.
Just be careful. You don't want to loose your cash.
