After being in this business for over 13 years I finally have my first book coming out: Link Building Is Dead. Long Live Link Building!
As a “big picture” kind of person, the prospect of writing a book is a huge concept. Book writing is all about detail.
But some how. Some way. I got it done.
After you write a book there is an entire other aspect to it: Marketing your book.
I feel much more comfortable in that environment.
Before the launch date you should send out some advanced reader copies. Mine looks like this:
That’s Internet veteran and best selling author Kristopher Jones with his copy of the book.
So, I sent a bunch of those out a couple weeks ago.
(Incidentally, if you are a blogger or publisher of some sort and would consider reviewing the book, let me know. I’ve got a few of these copies left. Use this form to request it.)
Being this is my first book the feelings that go along with it are all new.
I sent out these advanced reader copies.
Then I waited.
Then I got a few notices that people had received it. That was cool.
Then I waited some more.
At this point you wonder what people are thinking.
- Had they read it?
- Did they hate it?
- Are they not saying anything because it’s terrible and they are just nice people?
Mind you, all this wondering happened in about 2 weeks. People need a little time.
But then finally it happened! I got my first review to come over. Just last night.
Jim is highly respected in our industry. And his company is currently going gangbusters.
So this was an exciting one to get.
I opened it. And here’s what it said:
If you are a link builder, content marketer or SEO, this book is required reading. Sage’s book explains not just the “how’s” but the “why’s” as well so you understand the bigger picture. The advice given in this book is the real key to rankings in the search engines, and it’s just not links, it’s community participation (which this book explains). Well Done Sage, I’ll be recommending that all our link builders at Internet Marketing Ninjas buy and read your book.
- Jim Boykin
That’s as good a review as anyone could ever ask for.
No one knows the industry better than Jim. In addition to running Internet Marketing Ninjas. He also runs and owns these prominent communities:
- Threadwatch.org | Marketing and Technology Discussed
- WebmasterWorld News and Discussion for the Web Professional
I’m just so tickled.
Thank you Jim! Your glowing words mean the world to me.
The book comes out in September.
If it interests you please sign up for the official notice here:
I’m going to be giving a big huge discount on the day it launches. The email notification will be the surest way to get that discount.
I’m excited to see what you think of the book.
