Recently, the book of faces (aka Facebook) has been rolling out features in stealth mode. Did you notice that you can now edit your Facebook comments?? How long have you been waiting for this one?
We’ve all seen the grammatical snafus made by others and brutally met with the real-time critics. We’ve all laughed at the mistakes of others AND winced as we saw our own less-than-correct comments float out into the realm of public ridicule.
While I’d love to see our language preserved, my heart does go out to those making an honest mistake or those relying on the autocorrect features.
Well, now you can edit your comments in Facebook! It’s live and no one told you?? Go figure. Well, here’s the deal…
In one simple step, you can edit with the pencil icon. Your (not you’re) 1st grade teacher can hold their (not there or they’re) head high once again!
Step-by-Step Guide to Edit Facebook Comments:
- Hover over your comment: a pencil icon will appear.
- Click the pencil icon: choose to ‘edit’ or ‘delete’. If you select edit, your prior comment will appear and you can change as you like.
- Edit & Hit enter: when you’ve completed your changes, hit enter and your updated comment will appear.
Note that there is a way to view the revisions (see ‘edited’ link in above image) which is in line with the Facebook mission to be personal and true to real life. We all make typos and/or want to edit our thoughts, but what you said first was heard and recorded… just as in real-life.
Enjoy the new Fb feature.
