I’m speaking at the National Speakers Association this weekend.
Now there’s an audience that will be listening closely to my technique.
Just the same, I’m pretty excited.
I’ll be speaking a the “Ohio Sizzling Seminar” this Sunday.
I’ve been given a half hour to talk about pretty much anything I want that has to do with Internet marketing.
“If I could tell a group anything about Web marketing for 30 minutes, what would I tell them?”
This blog post is my brainstorming of this topic. If you have any ideas let me know.
1. Social media is the topic of the day.
People love to know about social media. But I’m thinking about having 3 general points. I think social media should maybe only be one of them.
If there was one thing you should do in social media, it should be: Consider social media the Networking group of the 21st century. More of the connections, less of the chicken dinners.
2. Then I would like to talk about local search.
Google Maps is the #1 way people find local businesses. This is because Google map listings are embedded on virtually all local search results pages.
Claim your business before someone else hijacks it.
3. Statistics are the best part of the web no one knows about.
Get a Google analytics account for your Web site. If you understand how people are getting to your Web site you can make smart business decisions for your online marketing in the future.
Knowing is half the battle.
OK. Cool. Now I think I’ve got a theme.
I think I want the order to be:
- Stats – “Knowing is half the battle.”
- Local Business – “Claim your business before someone else hijacks it.”
- Social Media – “More of the connections, less of the chicken dinners.”
Hence, the above image.
My theme could be:
“G.I. Joe will stop the hijacking of this chicken dinner.”
I don’t know. Is it a stretch? Is it funny?
Let me know your thoughts.
