I’ve spent much of this morning putting some finishing touches on the blog today.
One thing we wanted to do was to give each SageRock team member a place where they can have a nice clear voice about who they are and what they do with their time.
So, we created profile pages for each person that they can add to and and update with any information they would like.
When you see a post you’ll notice a link in the right column and at the bottom of the page that says something like “Posted by Sage.” The “Sage” part is a hyperlink that will take you to my profile page. This will be like that for each person who writes for the blog.
We are also doing some interesting things with gravatar.com. Gravatar is a centralized location for avatars. Each SageRock person has a Gravatar avatar. Those will appear by each comment. You will also see those in the profile pages. And if you make a comment on our blog, and use Gravatar, your picture will appear as well.
We wanted an easy way for you to see the specific articles each person wrote, so we are trying a WordPress plugin called: Posts by Author Plugin for WordPress · Dagon Design. You will notice on each person’s profile page a list of recent articles they have written. This is done using this plugin.
All-in-all, I’m pretty excited about this blog.
While we are a pretty flexible company for most things, writing on this blog is mandatory for SageRock people. The goal of that is to get everyone more familiar with WordPress and to also really think through what they are working on. Describing something makes you really internalize it.
We are also looking to develop some new innovative ideas internally by using this blog. We want each SageRock person to write about things they are thinking about in the idustry and how they can apply them to their work with our clients.
